About Us

Renate is an experienced commercial lawyer who counsels clients in connection with a variety of business transactions. She represents corporations and individuals, investors, developers, lenders and property managers. Renate assists clients with establishing and operating their U.S.-based businesses. These services range from setting up the U.S. business to advice relating to employment, leasing and operations. Renate has extensive experience related to equity investment partnerships and joint ventures in a variety of industries. Renate also represents clients in the acquisition, development, construction, financing, preservation and sale of affordable housing developments, including the syndication of low income housing tax credits.

Renate began her practice in Boston, Massachusetts as an associate with a U.S. national law firm and subsequently spent six years as in-house counsel to a U.S.-based private equity firm. Renate obtained a B.A. from McGill University and J.D. from Harvard Law School. She is admitted to practice in Ontario and Massachusetts.
